The add-on order must be placed in the name of your current WinZip software license administrator, and must be shipped to the license administrator's address of record. If your educational institution is covered by the Educational Maintenance and Home Use Plan the price for the additional licensed copies is based on WinZip Computing's Educational Use License price at the time the current Educational Maintenance and Home Use Plan was purchased for the subject WinZip Educational End Use License (your original pricing tier) and you may add on additional licensed copies to your WinZip Educational Use License at your original pricing tier, either in quantities of 25 or more per calendar quarter, or in a minimum order of US $500 anytime. If the number of computers at your institution increases you must license additional licensed copies of the WinZip software. Adding Licensed Copies to an Existing WinZip Educational Use License If you do not renew your Educational Maintenance and Home Use Plan on or before the expiration date all of the Educational Maintenance and Home Use Plan rights in this section terminate on your expiration date. You will also be entitled to special add-on pricing as explained below. Student, faculty and staff home and laptop use rights terminate when the student, faculty or staff member is no longer affiliated with your educational institution. You will also have the right to make WinZip available for home and laptop use by all students, faculty and staff at your educational institution. While your educational institution is covered by the Educational Maintenance and Home Use Plan, WinZip Computing will automatically make available, by electronic delivery, to your license administrator, all maintenance and new-feature releases of the software product, at no additional cost. Educational Maintenance and Home Use PlanĪn Educational Maintenance and Home Use Plan can be purchased at the time of your purchase of a WinZip Educational Use License, and is renewable annually (provided that you do not let it expire). Your license administrator is responsible for distributing the WinZip software for adding on to the size of the license if the number of computers at your institution increases, and for monitoring the number of copies used. At the time of purchase, or upon acceptance of the purchase order by WinZip Computing, the license administrator will receive an email confirmation that will include links and instructions for downloading the software.
The WinZip Educational Use software will be distributed by electronic means to the name and email address of the licenses administrator that was designated on the order form or purchase order. The WinZip Educational Use license must be centrally administered within your educational institution, which means that there needs to be one employee within your educational institution who acts as the license administrator and is the WinZip Computing point of contact. Administration and Distribution of the Software The license is not a concurrent-use license. You may not give or transfer copies of the WinZip Educational Use software. The license permits you to distribute the specified number of licensed copies of WinZip software entirely within your educational institution, on computers owned or leased by your educational institution. If a question arises as to whether you are an Educational End User, WinZip Computing's opinion shall prevail. The institution must be a school, junior college, college, university or scientific or technical institute accredited by associations recognized by their relevant ministry or department of education. An educational institution is an institution whose sole purpose is to provide educational instruction. You must license a copy of WinZip for each computer that is owned or leased by your educational institution.
